Blogger Recognition Award

As we approach this year’s Thanksgiving Holiday, I am excited to announce that Michael Philip Atkins Travels blog has just been nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award! It is truly an honor. I am so thankful to all of my followers and viewers who have been inspired by my photos and wanderings posted on this site. I started this photo blog not knowing what to expect and to see new followers joining my blog on a regular basis is an amazing feeling! Thank you all!

At this time I would like to give a very special thanks to Michelle Novak and her blog Inspired by Venice for nominating me for the blogger recognition award! Inspired by Venice is a wonderful blog about culture, travel, history, costuming, nature, food, and many other life moments inspired by none other than the beautiful city of Venice. Michelle Novak is author of the book Venice, an interactive historical fiction novel. She is an author of other books as well and I strongly urge you to check out her blog. Thank you Michelle for the nomination! It’s truly appreciated!

As part of accepting this award, I’m to share with you about how this blog got started. I’ve spent a good amount of my life travelling and living abroad. I spent a majority of my time in Asia and always had a fascination with the Japanese culture. I love photography and taking pictures that capture a special moment in life–whether that moment be stunning, beautiful or even the ordinary everyday mundane. I believe each moment is special and I try to convey those special moments through the pictures posted here on my blog. I believe each picture tells a story and that story may be different to the person looking at it. So I started this blog to share those pictures of the places I’ve been and of the experiences I’ve encountered along my life’s journey, hoping you all enjoy them and find inspiration in them.

The second part to accepting this award is to offer advice for new bloggers.  My advice is simple. Do what you’re passionate about, write what you’re passionate about and post what you’re passionate about. If you do that, you will not only enjoy what you’re doing, but you will soon discover many other people out there who share your same passion and are inspired by what you do. There is no greater feeling than knowing what you’re doing is an inspiration to others.

Finally, accepting the Blogger Recognition Award comes with the wonderful privilege of getting to nominate 15 blogs that have been an inspiration to me!  So here it goes! I’m nominating the following 15 blogs for the Blogger Recognition Award!

*The Wanderlust Keeper

*Open Frankfurt

*Slippery Edge

*Slovenian Girl Abroad

  1. Hi Michael. Congratulations on receiving this award. Way to go! I really enjoy looking at your photos of Japan. I especially enjoy when they’re of sakura trees, since I love them. Keep it up. And of course, thank you very much for nominating my blog, Fujinsei, for this award too. I appreciate it. Unfortunately I don’t accept this kind of awards in my blog, but I’m still very happy to be nominated. So thank you very much. Keep on blogging & posting beautiful pictures. Cheers!
